About Our Program
Team philosophy and values
Life lessons: The program emphasizes that softball is a tool for building character, confidence, and leadership.
Classroom extension: Coaching staff work with athletes to develop a strong work ethic, dedication, commitment, and self-confidence.
Core tenets: The team emphasizes key softball fundamentals, maintaining a positive attitude and effort, fostering trust, and being a supportive teammate.
High standards: The program expects athletes to maintain a high standard of conduct both on and off the field.
School representation: As participants in a school program, athletes are expected to act in a way that positively reflects on their team, the school, and the community.
Program structure
Varsity team: This team features talented players who have worked hard to earn their spot.
Junior varsity teams: These teams provide an environment for athletes to develop their skills and reinforce their fundamentals.
District-wide approach: The West Linn-Wilsonville School District, which includes WHS, encourages participation in multiple interscholastic programs and promotes teamwork among all Wildcat staff.
